Orchard Logistics

Orchard Transport Operator

Safely transport freshly picked cherries and harvest equipment between orchard blocks and collection points.

  • Confident and experienced driving a ute
  • Competent operating a tractor
  • Reliable, practical and safety focused

Key responsibilities

  • Collect harvested cherries from picking teams and transport them safely to designated collection or packing areas.
  • Operate a ute and tractor confidently across orchard roads and blocks.
  • Coordinate collection priorities with orchard supervisors and picking teams.
  • Complete basic vehicle and equipment checks and report any faults.
  • Follow farm traffic, load-security and workplace safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience driving a ute and operating a tractor.
  • Current Australian driver’s licence.
  • Good awareness of orchard safety and changing ground conditions.
  • Availability throughout the cherry harvest season.

Orchard Leadership

Orchard Supervisor

Allocate trees and rows, coordinate picking teams and monitor the overall progress and quality of the harvest.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Confident coordinating and assessing picking teams
  • Previous orchard or harvest experience preferred

Key responsibilities

  • Allocate trees, rows and orchard sections to picking teams.
  • Coordinate picker attendance, workflow and daily harvest priorities.
  • Monitor picking progress, fruit handling and work quality.
  • Assess picker performance, provide clear feedback and address issues promptly.
  • Communicate staffing, productivity and quality matters to orchard management.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal communication, leadership and people-management skills.
  • Ability to make fair, consistent decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous supervisory, orchard or harvest experience is preferred.
  • Availability for early starts and peak harvest hours.

Orchard Quality

Orchard Quality Control Officer

Inspect picked cherries, weigh harvested fruit and communicate quality feedback to pickers and supervisors.

  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Accurate weighing and record keeping

Key responsibilities

  • Inspect cherries picked by harvest teams for ripeness, damage, stems and overall picking quality.
  • Weigh harvested fruit and record results accurately.
  • Provide clear, respectful feedback to pickers about quality standards.
  • Report recurring quality or performance issues to the orchard supervisor.
  • Help maintain consistent harvest quality across all picking teams.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
  • Ability to work confidently outdoors and move between picking teams.
  • Previous orchard, fresh-produce or quality-control experience is preferred.
